India. 1960–2018
I first photographed India in the late 1960s and returned again and again over the following decades. From Rajasthan and Varanasi to villages, cities and sacred places, my black-and-white documentary photography explores the extraordinary diversity of Indian life—its people, spiritual traditions, rituals and everyday realities. Beyond the visual richness that first drew me to India, I have always sought the human dimension: dignity, resilience, faith, hardship and the quiet moments that reveal something universal in our lives.
