Morocco. 1975–81

From 1975 to 1981, I photographed Morocco, traveling through cities, villages and rural landscapes and encountering the people and traditions that shaped everyday life. These black-and-white documentary photographs explore Moroccan culture through portraits, gatherings, markets, pastoral life and the relationship between people and the land. My attention was drawn to moments of dignity, intimacy and resilience, and to a way of life undergoing profound social and cultural change.
