Ukraine. 2022

I traveled to Ukraine in 2022 to photograph the consequences of the Russian invasion and the human cost of war.
These photographs document destroyed homes and cities, damaged landscapes, displacement, and the traces left upon civilian life. As in my earlier work on conflict, my concern was not simply the machinery of war, but the people whose lives had been interrupted or transformed by it.
The photographs are both documents of a particular moment in history and part of my continuing attempt to bear witness to the consequences of war.
