Two giraffes cross in a moment of quiet symmetry, their long necks and patterned forms emerging against the deep shadow of the surrounding landscape. Made during my travels in Africa in the 1990s, the photograph reflects my fascination with the grace, individuality, and sculptural presence of animals in the natural world.
